RMI Education and Skills Strengthening Project
The Government of the Republic of Marshall Islands has actually received funding from the World Bank for the Education and Skills Strengthening Project (ESSP) cost. It plans to use part of the proceeds for seeking advice from services.

. The Marshall Islands: Skills Training and Vocational Education Project Evaluates the performance of the task and highlights lessons. Provides inputs to two more comprehensive examinations- the local examination of ADB support for the Pacific and the special examination study on Millennium Development Goals. The low educational achievement and shortage of Marshallese skilled workers were mostly due to the poor quality of standard education, lack of access to education in the outer islands, and weak points in abilities training and the professional and technical education system.
These supported an economy marked by high joblessness because of constrained economic sector growth and federal government downsizing. Unemployment was particularly high amongst the youth and women in the external islands. Suitable regional skilled personnel for existing job vacancies
were not available, thus the importation of appropriately experienced foreign employees. Hence, there was a mismatch between readily available tasks and skills of the Marshallese labour force. These conditions supplied the initiative for the Government
of the Marshall Islands to prioritize technical and trade education training reforms. In 2000, ADB approved a loan for $9.1 million to enhance abilities training to provide trained workers required for continual financial and social development. This was to be accomplished through an integrated national skills training system. The task consisted of 4 parts: advancement of a career awareness program, skills training improvement, boosted abilities training opportunities for women and youth, and institutional fortifying. The long-standing weak point of bad numeracy and literacy competencies

The status of the technical and occupation education training system has remained essentially the same after job completion.
